Let’s start with some of the swankiest Tulum hotels with private pools on the beach.

“Private pool” really goes hand-in-hand with “luxury hotel.” So it’s no wonder that some of the best Tulum hotels with private pools happen to be 5-star offerings.

They’re heavy on the luxury but they’re also sustainable. Many are about wellness too.

(Pssst! Check out our post on the different areas to stay in Tulum too! You can choose from Tulum Beach, Tulum Town and Aldea Zama.)

1)  Be Tulum

This oversized Agua Master Suite at Be Tulum has a full-on view of the Caribbean

The boho Be Tulum is most definitely one of the best Tulum hotels on the beach. Seriously, this place has “exclusive” written all over it!

Of course, the resort is right smack on the beach, facing the blue Caribbean waters. It’s centrally located in Tulum’s Hotel Zone, so you can walk to other restaurants, bars and shops.

And it offers not one but two infinity pools, so you can take a refreshing dip when you’ve had enough of sunning yourself on the sand.

As for accommodation, Be Tulum features a choice 65 chic suites. Some are in the jungle and others are beachfront villas.

The best suites? Those that come with their very own plunge pool or hot tubs, so you don’t have to share.

2) Mi Amor a Colibri Tulum Boutique Hotel

Mi Amor is all about romance – its rooms with private pools up the romance factor!

Setting is everything.

Close to Tulum’s public Las Palmas Beach (Playa Las Palmas) and situated on a rocky promontory jutting out into the Caribbean Sea, this adults-only property definitely has that.

What it also has is luxury. Higher category rooms come with private plunge pools.

Days can be spent splashing in your very own plunge pool, sunning yourself on the sand or sipping delicious Mexican margaritas at the swim-up pool bar.

As far as Tulum hotels with private plunge pools are concerned, Mi Amor is a top pick.

And not just for the pools. Uniquely, the cabanas here are set on the rocky coastline, so your cocktail hour comes with the soundtrack of crashing waves.

This 4-star hotel in Tulum is all kinds of beautiful.

Situated along a 3,000-foot stretch of private beach, Papaya Playa Project perfectly marries boutique and bohemian vibes for a uniquely “Tulum” stay.

It’s about herb-infused artisanal cocktails, reconnecting with nature at full moon parties and Mayan shaman therapies.

And the rooms?

These are chic jungle huts, each with their own private plunge pools. Some are rooftop, so you can take a dip among jungle treetops.

Elsewhere, there’s a beachside infinity pool. A perfect choice.

There are sleek minimal suites decorated with natural wood furnishings, as well as loft spaces boasting pools and two outdoor terraces each. Some rooms even have private swim-up pools, with direct access to the main hotel pool.

Staying here is all about luxury with a capital “L”.

Unlike some other luxury hotels in Tulum, this one isn’t adults-only.

That said, the minimum age is 14 years old. So, if your kids are older, you can take a family vacation to remember at this Caribbean beachside hotel.

When not dipping in your own pool, the on-site Ziggy’s Beach Club is the place to be, day or night.

There’s a long list of amenities besides, including the very chilled and sassy outdoor pool area, a gym and a yoga studio.

Just a couple of miles from the famous Tulum archaeological site, Habitas Tulum is a seriously high-end glamping experience.

Staying here is like going on safari – but at the beach.

It features a collection of 32 luxury canvas tents. Think king-size beds, vintage wood furnishings and outdoor rain showers. And they come with air conditioning too.

Some tents in the jungle also have private pools.

If you thought it was all about being at one with nature in tents, you’d be (half) wrong.

With a spa and a menu featuring delicious Spanish and Moorish cuisine, this place is also very much about living it up.

For another thing, it’s one of the best Tulum resorts with plunge pools, and there’s a main beachfront pool to soak up some stunning scenery too.

La Zebra is yet another of the luxury properties scattered along South Tulum Beach.

But this one comes with historic value. It’s actually set inside a former coconut plantation.

The rooms don’t exactly reflect this, however.

Instead, La Zebra has been transformed into a small luxury resort.

Its beach chic rooms are kitted out with reams of high-quality details like tropical wood décor, walk-in showers and organic toiletries. Some of these rooms come with private plunge pools.

As well, there’s an outdoor pool with a swim-up bar for the ultimate in daytime indulgence.

The hotel bills itself as “beachfront luxury at its best” – and we can confirm this is exactly what this 5-star property serves up.

Strewn around this adults-only resort are 28 rooms.

Preferred Club junior suites like this have plunge pools on their terraces

All-inclusive resorts in Tulum don’t get much better than this.

An enormous complex with over 400 suites to choose from, this adults-only resort is all about enjoying the good life. It’s a memorable place to do so.

The sea water is crystal clear, the snorkeling is excellent and thatched palapas on the beach are perfect for relaxing.

As for the food, restaurants include the French-inspired Bordeaux, an elegant Mexican resto and an Italian trattoria.

The sizeable grounds of Secrets Akumal Rivieria Maya are centered around a total of three outdoor swimming pools.

But the pool flex is much stronger than this selection.

Some suites come with direct swim-out access, where you can slide right into a large shared pool from your terrace. You can also find Preferred Club Junior Suites with their own private plunge pools.
