For luxury getaways, nothing comes close to staying at resorts and hotels with private pools in-room.
Sometimes the pools are on the deck or terrace of the suite – and sometimes the swimming pools are actually in the room!
And while we’ve been fortunate enough to experience some of the best luxury hotels with private pools around the world, here we’d like to zero in on the best hotels with private in-room pools in the USA.

So sit back, relax and have a look at our list of 25+ best hotels with private plunge pools in the USA.
Several of these hotels in the US with private pools are quite affordable too.

But we’ve thoroughly researched to find less expensive options as well. Because everyone deserves some affordable luxury in their lives. Don’t you agree?

Any couple will be thrilled to spend a few days and nights at the adults-only H20 Suites Hotel, where they’ll find the ultimate in private luxury.
As one of the top-rated Florida hotels with private plunge pools, the H20 delivers on its reputation.
Not only do the Deluxe Luxury Suites offer in-room plunge pools with a private patio.
They offer pretty well every other comfort too – including nightly turndown treats like Ghirardelli chocolates and fresh-baked muffins, an Italian marble bathroom with glass rainfall shower and a private wet bar for mixing your own pool-side cocktails. (Mexican margaritas, anyone?)
Can someone say, “Pour me another”!
2) W South Beach
At the swanky W South Beach Hotel, you’ll find one of the most enviable private pool suites in Florida.
It’s the Mega Bi-Level Suite.
At 1,037 sq. ft., the two-floor suite features a kitchenette, herringbone oak floors, king bed and hand-painted art by local Miami artist Juan Manual Rozas on the powder room walls.
Best of all, the rooftop terrace, with a private heated outdoor pool, offers panoramic ocean views that are nothing short of spectacular.
Grab a lounge chair and sit back to enjoy those warm Florida nights from your terrace, while taking in the backdrop of white sand and ocean. The large glass balcony ensures you get the best view from every angle!
Any couple looking for the best of both worlds – access to the energetic South Beach vibe and a deluxe secluded oasis – need look no further than the mega suite at the W Miami.
3) Suite Dreams Inn by the Beach
If you’re looking for your own little romantic nook in Florida, whisk your sweetheart away to the deluxe Hemingway Retreat apartment suite at the Suite Dreams Inn, Key West. (It’s easy on the wallet too.)
Treat each other to a quiet vacation for two in the spacious 1,100 sq. ft. suite, complete with a private pool and sun deck surrounded by orchids and tropical trees.
Want to invite family or friends?
The Hemingway Retreat has two bedrooms and can sleep up to seven guests. It can even be combined with the inn’s other suites to sleep up to 13 people.
Bonus: You’re only three blocks from the beach here, and you’re welcomed with complimentary key lime cookies and fruit in your suite.
4) Sea Spray Resort
There aren’t a ton of Florida resorts with private pools to choose from.
But if a room with a king-sized bed and its own private pool in the Sarasota area is what you’re looking for, the Starfish Room at the Sea Spray Resort won’t disappoint.
You’re sure to get all the privacy you need with the outdoor pool and terrace that’s entirely walled and secured with a locked gate.
Don’t feel like leaving your little private bubble? Fire up your poolside grill for an intimate barbecue, and there’s no need to go outside the resort.
It’s nice to have options!
5) Bayfront Marin House
Watching the sherbet sunset with a cocktail in hand after a dip in your private plunge pool sounds heavenly, right?
You can have this and more at the quaint Saltwater Suite for two at the Bayfront Marin House in historic downtown St. Augustine.
Or ask for the Lagoon Cottage with an ocean view, a private patio with lounge chairs and the ultimate treat – a heated saltwater pool with a waterfall.
You can book this cozy Caribbean-inspired cottage for just the two of you.
But as it can comfortably accommodate up to five people, it works for a family or two couples as well.
The stately feel of this award-winning bed-and-breakfast is a pleasant alternative to a hotel or resort.
Originally built in the 1790s, the Bayfront Marin House mixes antiques with modern comforts like free Wi-Fi, double whirlpool tubs and electric fireplaces.
Upgrading to a suite or cottage with a private pool is just icing on the cake.
Hotels with private pools in-room in California
6) Bardessono Hotel & Spa
If this sounds enticing, it’s because it is.
The Maple Grove Villas at the 5-star Bardessono Hotel & Spa in California’s Napa Valley wine country give you three villa options that each include their own private courtyard and cocktail pool.
(They’re basically private plunge pools, but “cocktail pool” lends a much better sense of place, don’t you think?)
We’ve gone wine tasting in Sonoma, Napa’s smaller wine region sister.
And we can tell you that after a heady day of swirling, sipping and savoring (no spitting though, as who wants to waste good wine!), sinking into a cool pool is the perfect way to relax – and to enjoy some sunset wine cocktails too.
Whether you stay at the Jasper, Flint or the Quartole Villa (all one-bedroom villas), you’ll delight in their cutting edge design.
The floor-to-ceiling stacking glass doors, for example, open onto your private walled courtyard with pool. How to bring the outside in! It feels like a natural indoor/outdoor extension of your king-bedded room.
The 1,410 sq. ft. Quartole Villa has a gas firepit outside too – even in winter, you’ll be toasty by your pool.
The three villas can also be booked as one 3-bedroom haven for the ultimate refined wine country retreat with family or friends.
7) Beverly Hills Hotel
A Los Angeles icon – and about as good as California hotels with private pools come – the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Boulevard stands in a league of its own.
For the ultimate splurge, stay in Bungalow 5. Elizabeth Taylor spent six of her eight honeymoons here. Just like Liz received, you’ll get A-list star treatment.
A private pool with private Jacuzzi?
Simply step through the double French doors of the bedroom into the pretty peach-colored courtyard, and you’re there.
As for the view, it’s sure to wow you LA-style with its 12 acres of surrounding tropical gardens, palm trees and exotic flowers.
Speaking of exclusivity, the 1,835 sq. ft. Presidential Bungalow will impress even the toughest Hollywood critic.
Full kitchen and dining room seating for 10? Fireplaces in the bedroom and living room? A large outdoor patio bedecked with your own infinity pool (waterfall-edged, no less) and outdoor shower? Check, check and check!
Add to that a complimentary welcome bottle of champagne, fresh flowers and complimentary LAX airport transfers. Does it get any better?
8) La Quinta Resort & Club
So you’re looking for one of the choicest Palm springs hotels with private pools?
The high-end La Quinta Resort & Club makes it easy to escape the intense desert heat of the Coachella Valley by offering suites with private plunge pools and hot spas.
For a romantic getaway for two, you can book one of three available King suites.
Enjoy a private dip in your pool with a stunning mountain view, followed by a snuggle with your sweetheart in front of your fireplace.
Or for a larger group, you can select the 2-bedroom El Presidente Suite, La Quinta’s largest suite.
This suite sleeps up to four guests. And with over 2,000 sq. ft. to roam, there’s lots of space for entertaining indoors.
But you can always move the party outdoors to the expansive patio, where you and your companions can swim in the pool or relax in your private hot tub.
BTW, you won’t be slumming it if you choose one of the white-washed casitas instead (the resort’s “lowest” room category).
They may not have their own plunge pools. But many have poolside locations – and with 41 pools at the resort, you’re just steps away from a lovely sparkling pool.
You stay cool when dining too. The luxury resort has four on-site restaurants – La Quinta was the first place we experienced patio dining with a refreshing misting system.
9) Hotel Bel-Air
You’ve seen it in movies, and it’s just as magnificent when you see it in real life. The Hotel Bel-Air is one of the best hotels in the United States for a reason.
This peaceful posh resort in L.A.’s glam Bel-Air neighborhood boasts an acclaimed Wolfgang Puck restaurant, an award-winning spa (treatments incorporate skincare products from the elite Swiss brand, Valmont) and an oval-shaped outdoor swimming pool – where hourly treats include lemonade slushies, frozen grape skewers and chocolate-dipped banana slices.
For a private pool in an exclusive setting, you have several specialty suite choices.
The Patio Suite, for example, is elegant and bright, as the sun’s rays from your private patio shine through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Through the double doors, you can slip right into your private plunge pool and leave the world behind.
There’s also the Grace Kelly Suite, with a 1940’s Hollywood-style charm that lives up to its name.
Vaulted ceilings and double doors invite you out into its own plunge pool, set perfectly in a private garden patio.
For the granddaddy of all suites, set your sights on the Presidential Suite.
All you need is one look at the private infinity pool in its Spanish-style courtyard to be ecstatic you booked this suite.
Top that off with a monolithic fireplace, grand piano, chef’s kitchen, heated bathroom floors and more – presidential indeed!
It’s no wonder that this exclusive hotel has been on every VIP’s list since the late 1940’s.
These three hotel rooms with private pools in Los Angeles will certainly make for an amazing experience to cross off your bucket list!
10) L’Horizon Resort & Spa
This 1950’s treasure in Palm Springs was once a Hollywood celebrity playground owned by successful TV producer and oil tycoon Jack Wrather and his actress wife.
Their A-list guests have included the likes of Marilyn Monroe and President Reagan.
Redeveloped as an adults-only luxury boutique hotel, L’Horizon Palm Springs preserves all of its former glory with 25 custom-designed bungalows that exude glamor.
Peer through the glass walls of the Premier Pool Bungalow to catch a glimpse of the private plunge pool located right outside on your patio. Cool feature: From your full-length glass shower, you look out at a private cacti-filled terrarium.
Or book the Fireplace Junior Suite Bungalow, which Marilyn Monroe herself claimed as her personal bungalow.
The king-size bed has a hand-crafted natural fiber mattress for the dreamiest sleeps. You can shower outside under the stars (like Monroe liked to do) and cozy up to the indoor copper-clad, wood-burning fireplace. And just beyond the glass walls of your living room lies a private zero-edge pool.
For the ultimate stay, live the way Wrather once did in his original post-and-beam home that’s now been refurbished as The Residence.
With a 50s-chic décor, it features a full kitchen and dining area, living room, marble bathroom, large garden with a full-size pool and every other comfort you could ever need!
Hotels with private pools in Hawaii
11) Fairmont Kea Lani
Located on the gorgeous Wailea Coast in Maui, we can say from experience that the Fairmont Kea Lani promises an idyllic Hawaiian vacation.
Of all the romantic things to do on Maui, choosing this place to stay on one trip was one of the smartest decisions we made.
The Kea Lani’s collection of beachfront Hawaii villas with private pools provide plenty of space, with two- to three-bedroom options.
The villas feature two master bedrooms (each with Italian marble bathrooms), a full-size gourmet kitchen, private courtyard with barbecue grill and – the star amenity – a plunge pool.
(Just so you don’t get too jealous, we didn’t actually stay in a villa at the Kea Lani. Our guestroom was sweet enough. But we could see the pool villas would add extra zest to an already sublime resort.)
Now, this resort appeals to families too, so you can expect kiddies. But it still has a romantic feel.
12) Andaz Maui
We love both.
But when weighing up Maui vs Kauai, Maui has a leg up when it comes to having more options for hotels with private pools.
On Maui, just in Wailea alone (where you find the Fairmont Kea Lani, #11), there’s another stylish resort that offers luxury accommodations with a private pool.
It’s the 15-acre beachfront haven – the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort.
The Andaz has 11 villas where guests can indulge in a private pool, with an expansive private lanai to relax and soak in the spirit of aloha. All villas include amenities like ocean views, gourmet Miele kitchens and Viking outdoor grill.
The villas come in two- and three-bedroom configurations, so it’s easy to find your temporary home in paradise no matter how big or small you decide to keep your group.
The three-bedroom Oceanfront Villa comes with daily breakfast at Ka’ana Kitchen (get your vitamin fix from the juice mixologist!), round-trip airport transfers, private SUP lessons and complimentary minibar with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
Then there’s the ultimate 4,070 sq. ft. 4-bedroom King Ocean Front Villa.
All guests are pampered in luxury with a king-sized bed in every bedroom, five bathrooms, a large private outdoor space with private plunge pool and dedicated VIP Concierge service.
One thing’s for sure – you’ll want for nothing with a villa experience at the Andaz.
13) Four Seasons Resort Hualalai
Chances are that when you first step into the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on the Big Island, you’ll have the same thought we did: “This is heaven!”
Carved from a black lava landscape, the 5-star resort is one of the most luxurious in Hawaii.
For private quality time in paradise, the Presidential, Makaloa and Ho’onanea villas will make you swoon. Design elements include slate floors and eye-catching Hawaiian art pieces – along with private pools.
The 2,600 sq. ft. Ho’onanea Villa offers direct access to the beach too.
Can you fault us if we think the Four Seasons is one of the finest Hawaii resorts with private pools?
But listen up. Even if you don’t book a pool villa (because you may prefer not to mortgage your house to do so), the resort’s guest rooms and suites have all just been revamped – main floor rooms have outdoor lava-rock showers.
The resort has seven pools as well.
Wait until you spot the King’s Pond pool! Like a swimmable aquarium, the 1.8 million gallon pool has a sand bottom and is home to 4,000 tropical fish, a sea turtle and an eagle ray.
So your accommodations will still be pretty cushy – even if you don’t have your own private pool – and you’re not going to lack for pool time either.
The only downside (though it could be an upside for some) is that the Four Seasons Hualalai is quite secluded – you can’t walk to other restaurants or shops.
Hotels with private pools in-room in Chicago and Illinois
14) Sybaris, Chicago
Couples who live in Chicago will find it easy to rekindle the romance at one of the Sybaris pool suites in Northbrook Village.
A suburb of Chicago, Northbrook offers a quick local getaway with parks, a 27-hole championship golf course and several upscale eateries and boutique shops.
The priciest room at the Sybaris Suite Hotel (Northbrook) is the tropical-themed Chalet Swimming Pool Suite, a two-story suite with its own heated private swimming pool.
And what a giggle! You can splash right down into the pool via a 10-foot waterslide from the second-floor bedroom loft.
Or relax and unwind with your sweetheart in the Majestic Swimming Pool Suite.
Frolic in your own heated swimming pool with a tropical waterfall that cascades overhead. A hot tub, relaxing massage chair and cozy fireplace also await. Oh, and don’t forget the misting room!
Other suites also have pools, mini pools or hot tubs.
When it comes to romantic hotels in Chicago with a private pool, the Sybaris is a solid choice. There are also two other Illinois-based hotels like Sybaris in Chicago: the Sybaris (Frankfort) and the Sybaris (Downers Grove).
15) Champagne Lodge and Luxury Suites
So are there more hotels with private pools in-room in Illinois?
The Champagne Lodge and Luxury Suites is located about 20 minutes from downtown Chicago.
The Swimming Pool Suite is the most sought-after by couples looking for a secluded escape.
It’s decked out with a 17 x 8 ft. heated pool (complete with poolside chaise lounges), mood lighting, double stone fireplace, two big-screen TVs and a combination steam room and shower.
To keep you in the mood, all 38 rooms and suites have no windows.
USA hotels with private pools: Utah
Okay, admit it. The Utah desert didn’t cross your mind when thinking about the best resorts for a romantic getaway, did it?
But think again.
Because nestled in unspoiled red-rock country, Amangiri is a 600-acre sanctuary offering 34 stylish suites and tented pavilions that will take your breath away.
Many have small private plunge pools.
The one-bedroom Canyon Pavilion – with its firepit, outdoor shower and pool facing the eastern mesa – looks like the backdrop for a romantic Indiana Jones movie set.
For couples who want to get off-grid and enjoy desert and canyon landscapes unlike any you could imagine, this is the place.
Hike a hoodoo trail, climb a via ferrata, take out a complimentary BMW to explore the Grand Canyon, feel your stresses melt away at the spa and see stars as bright as ever in a sky with zero light pollution.
Just be aware that Amangiri is probably the most exclusive resort in the USA right now (meaning the price tag matches the luxury).
Private pool suites in USA: Las Vegas
17) Mirage, Las Vegas
Las Vegas isn’t a place that wants for indulgences, so you can bet there are some over-the-top Las Vegas pool suites.
The Mirage Resort & Casino offers the most spectacular.
Their one-bedroom Lanai Suites have all the amenities you need to make your Vegas trip as relaxing or as entertaining as your heart desires.
Slip away through a private gated entrance into the secluded wing of this luxury resort, and stretch out in your own 2,650 sq. ft. space away from all the constant beeps and chimes of the slot machines.
Better yet, enjoy a cocktail from the wet bar in the privacy of your own plunge pool.
For larger groups, their two and three-bedroom private villas also hit the jackpot. (The three-bedroom villa even has its own putting green.)
Private backyard pools make it easy to entertain friends and create your own VIP desert oasis.
If you’re in the mood for extra pampering, call on your 24-hour private butler or the personal chef service, and live it up in the lap of luxury.
Hotels with private pools in-room in PA
18) Inn of the Dove
In Bensalem, Pennsylvania, you’ll find the Inn of the Dove. This clean 3-star motel for couples is known for its honeymoon suites and other, ahem, uniquely themed suites.
A variety of the hotel’s themed rooms, like the Cave and Jungle suites, have hot tubs.
But you’ll have to book the Dove Swimming Pool Suite to get an indoor heated swimming pool in your room. And, hey, not many motels can boast a hotel room with pool inside – surrounded by mirrors too!
19) Pocono Palace Resort
If a heart-shaped pool in your room doesn’t scream romance, we don’t know what does!
Every detail of this suite invites passion – from the 7 ft. high pink champagne glass whirlpool and heated heart-shaped pool to the dry sauna and massage table with a heat lamp. Not to mention the cozy log-burning fireplace that just beckons lovers for a post-swim fireside snuggle…
Sure, it’s all a bit cheesy, but in a fun way.
And when you think about it, isn’t the expression of romantic love itself a bit cheesy? (In our relationship, no matter how corny the Valentine’s day card from the other, it still tugs at the receiver’s heart strings.)
Arizona hotels with private pools
20) Enchantment Resort
Positive vibes, enhanced by the natural beauty of Mother Nature, await at Sedona’s captivating Enchantment Resort.
Surrounded by the majestic red rocks of Boynton Canyon, the resort’s adobe-style casitas blend in masterfully with the environment.
Each of the resort’s luxurious Pool Suites and Spa Pool Suites include a private pool and a viewing deck offering spectacular views.
You can also soak in the scenery from another viewing deck with an outdoor and indoor sitting area located in the living room.
A gas fireplace adds the perfect final touch of cozy luxury.
And when you’re ready for activity?
Hike, play golf, go mountain biking, observe the stars, succumb to spa treatments inspired by native American traditions and explore Sedona’s vortexes (centers of energy) said to be swirling at Cathedral Rock, Boynton Canyon and elsewhere nearby.
21) JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa
If you’re craving desert luxury, another place you might like is the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort.
This award-winning Arizona resort with private pool options has a history dating back to 1936. It attracts guests seeking to unwind in an idyllic setting (the aptly named Paradise Valley) and rejuvenate in its world-class spa.
Book a one- or two-bedroom Jackrabbit Suite or Deluxe Pool Suite to take in the desert-hued sunsets from your own private plunge pool.
If you need loads of space for up to 10 guests, the three-bedroom Manor House offers 2,773 sq. ft. to spread out in.
It has a kitchen too (but no oven).

In addition to the couples’ pool suites in Illinois (#14 above), the Sybaris hotel brand has two more US resorts with private pools. One is the Sybaris in Mequon, Wisconsin.
Yes, there’s more private swimming pool fun to be had! The hotel suites are similar to the Sybaris Chicago pool suites.
24) Sybaris, Indianapolis
We’re not finished yet with Sybaris.
There’s also a Sybaris in Indianapolis. It seems their formula for resorts with private pools in the USA obviously works!
25) Belamere Suites, Georgia
The Belamere Suites in Ohio proved so popular (see #22) – snagging the TripAdvisor award for best romantic hotel in the USA (in 2017 and 2018) – that the owners built another Belamere Suites in Cumming, Georgia.
