“Africa gets under your skin,” they say. “One visit is never enough. You’ll always hanker to return.” How true.
It’s been months since our six-week visit to the African continent.
But our dreams are still filled with a kaleidoscope of images of wild African animals.
Of baby elephants rolling about in mud, graceful giraffe peering over acacia trees, cheeky monkeys snatching muffins and bananas from breakfast tables, long-legged impala (the archetypical African antelope) bounding gracefully across savannah plains, and hyena pups suckling on their mother.
So we’ve collected more of our wildlife photos and a short video…
Oh my, what big tusks you have!
Zebras, elephants, warthogs and birds frolic by a water hole (video by Beatrice Norrie, Janice’s mother)
Wild and free…
We’re also sharing some pics taken by Pierre Mouton, our wonderful guide at Simbambili Game Lodge in South Africa. With his uncanny sense for predicting animal behaviour, he led us on the thrilling game drives that brought us up close and personal to the “Big 5.” Pierre also happens to be a talented wildlife photographer.
Here’s to animal love…
